Hello! How was your weekend? I’m so excited to feature this blog design project I did a few months ago that features a custom illustration commissioned by the client specifically for her blog.
Honeylette is a medical doctor who also has a lifestyle blog, and loves to travel, eat, shop, and read. She loves quirky cafes, great books and movies, Audrey Hepburn, shabby chic decor, scented candles, and anything pretty. Naturally, she wanted her blog to be a breath of fresh air, with a happy, dainty, and girly vibe.
We started off by discussing her color palette and design inspirations. Here is the color inspiration board that I curated from her Pinterest board.
Isn’t it pretty? Pink, mint, and light green are LOVE!
Here is the brand board that I pulled together with all the elements.
And here is how it all came together on her site. I’m absolutely in love with how it came out. I wanted to make sure that even with all the design elements, it wouldn’t be overwhelming, and her content will still be the star.
I built her theme using a customized version of my Sophie theme, which runs on the Genesis Framework. The overall look is pretty & girly, but still very clean, with lots of white space. Watercolor touches abound, from the header, to the sidebar widget backgrounds, to the social media icons. Like all my other themes, this one is of course, mobile responsive.
