“Little by little, step by step, design the life you want to live.”
I just love this quote! I saw it on a graphic being shared on facebook, and I wish I knew who wrote it. Isn’t it true though? It’s not going to happen in an instant, but if you live your life with intention (this seems to be the catch word lately), you will eventually have the life you want to live. And isn’t your own life the best design project you can ever have?
Debbie Millman, one of my heroes, explores this topic with Jonathan Fields. If you haven’t seen this video yet, do watch it. If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to have a good life, this conversation gives such great insights. I could totally relate to what Debbie said about not knowing what you wanted to be when she was growing up. She experimented with so many things, much like I did, actually. I wanted to be a fashion designer, doctor, archaeologist, poet, actress, historian, comics illustrator (!), and so many other things! It was only later that I really figured out what my calling was and decided that I would leave behind everyone else’s expectations of me, and really focus on what I wanted to do.
If you found this inspiring too, feel free to share it and pin it! Let’s spread the good vibes around.
