The first half of the year was really special for me. I finally got the chance to meet a few lovely people that I’ve had the pleasure of working with. I rarely get the chance to do so, being a web entrepreneur. My consultations with clients are done thru email exchanges or at best skype chats. While I normally like working alone, there are times when I crave the company of kindred souls, like clients with whom I had a fantastic time working with.
The first one to visit Singapore this year was Jennyfer Ang Tan, the tech wiz behind TheTechieMom.com. Most of my clients know her too, because I recommend her to anyone who needs migration services or wordpress troubleshooting. She’s awesome to work with! And this year, I discovered that she’s also so much fun to talk to! We met over brunch at Wild Honey Cafe (one of my favourite brunch places here). We bonded over our love of food and geeky stuff.
Yes, we ate all that! hahahaha! I love Wild Honey’s all-day breakfast menu from around the world! We had the Spanish Hash, The Parisienne, and The Belgian.
Here’s a picture of us together, before we started attacking the food.
Take note that we met for breakfast, so the fact that I look almost as Chinese as Jenn does here is due to waking up earlier than I normally do.
The next one who came over is Martine de Luna of MakeitBlissful.com, formerly DaintyMom.com. I already had the pleasure of meeting Martine when she visited Singapore last year. She’s such a lovely person! I’ve collaborated with her so many times in the past, designed her blog 4 years in a row, and also designed another one of her sites, as well as her latest logo. Martine and I have very similar aesthetics, so it’s always great to work with her. Last year we got together for tea at TWG, this year, I treated her and her husband Ton to Wild Honey for brunch (yes, I told you it’s one of my favourites!). Little did I know that they were already keeping an exciting secret when they were here!

More recently, Mia Jaranilla, a famous lifestyle blogger and photographer based in Bangkok, and another one of my long-time clients, re-visited Singapore (they used to live here until about 5 years ago). I met her over a late lunch at Jones the Grocer in Mandarin Gallery, another favourite restaurant. It was one of the most fun first-time meet-ups I’ve ever had! We discovered so many things in common, and talked nonstop for almost 3 hours. I had such a lovely time!
The charcuterie board at Jones the Grocer tops them all! It was soooo good!!!
Grace Barbers-Baja, aka The Spoiled Mummy, is always fun to hang out with. She’s charming to the last cm of her nails! We are currently working on rebranding her blog, so our meeting was part work, part social. I treated her to tea at TWG just a couple of weeks ago, and met her equally charming husband and kids as well. She had the prettiest outfit that day! It reminded me of something the Duchess of Cambridge wore recently. Except Grace had on the cutest Chanel espadrilles, so I’ll give Grace more fashion points!
Lesson learned: never meet up with Grace wearing clothes you’d wear to run errands! She’s always so glamorous!
I’m looking forward to the next round of meet-ups. I do hope more of my clients come over and visit Singapore. It’s so nice to actually sit down and talk face to face! Something I don’t get to experience often. I’m grateful I was given the chance to meet these lovely ladies this year.
So who else is coming to Singapore? Let me know!
I had a lovely time with you, Pat! Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to see me. You are the best!!
Thanks! Hope to see you again soon, Grace!
Hi Patricia! I agree Ms. Grace always looks glamorous! I’m excited to see the rebranding of The Spoiled Mummy soon! I love how you designed her website. 🙂 God bless you ladies!
Thank you, JM! And thank you, Pat!!
You ladies are awesome! Can’t wait to see my new site up and running too…Cheers!
