It is always an absolute joy to work with Adair of Dairing Events! We have worked together a few times in the past, and I have to say she is one of the nicest clients I’ve ever had. She approached me earlier this year to do a refresh of her website (which I designed some years ago). Adair is Jacksonville Florida’s top wedding planner, and her work deserved to be showcased in a strategic way. I love that she trusted me completely, and the result is something she truly loved.
MOODBOARD & COLOR PALETTE
Adair wasn’t rebranding. We actually kept her logo and brand colors, and just updated the website to be more current. You can see her old website design here. The overall feel is still consistent with her brand – watercolor touches, lots of white space and fine details.
The new website layout does a better job of showing off her work, with full-screen images and a less cluttered layout. I removed the icons from the menubar so that it looks cleaner and less distracting, and added a semi-opaque watercolor background to the header.
HOMEPAGE
The result is much cleaner, easier to navigate, and the abundance of white space makes it easy to focus on the content. The rest of the pages also got the same treatment. I carefully handpicked every image that went to each of the pages so that they are consistent with the overall mood, colors, and style. We used the same watercolor touches for a consistent look.
Naturally, the website is completely mobile-responsive, and built on WordPress using the Genesis Framework. Do check it out here. Her portfolio is amazing! Her gorgeous work has been featured on so many of the top wedding magazines and blogs.
