Bethany Walter is a wedding and portrait photographer based in St Augustine, Florida. Her style is timeless and classic, and she wanted her brand identity to reflect that. Ginny Krauss did a fantastic job as her brand coach, helping her define the style and mood that her clients will associate with her brand. Bethany already had an existing logo and it was cute and had a handwritten monogram, but she wanted to move away from it, and decided that her new logo design had to be clean and minimalistic. Our inspiration for the entire project is a classic little black dress.
I curated her mood board from Bethany’s Pinterest board. This palette is classic, and eternally chic!
Here are the design options I sent for her logo design:
This is the final set that she approved: primary logo, secondary logo, and submark.
Here is her brand board.
The entire stationery suite carries the same minimalist look, with some gorgeous black and white images from Bethany’s portfolio. My favorite is the business card!
After we finalized the logo and stationery suite, we moved on to her website. The website design, while modern in layout, still bears a very classic and traditional look. Note the use of muted colors with very small accents of black and blush. All very classy, nothing that screams for attention, and lots of white space. We wanted Bethany’s photography to be the main attraction.
The homepage features a full-width slider of her favorite images from her portfolio. It’s the first thing you see, and it fills the screen beautifully!
The website is fully mobile-responsive, and I tested everything on all my devices to make sure everything works regardless of the size of the screen.
Her portfolio page is also very simple and minimalist, with cover photos for each of her categories, leading to the individual galleries.
Bethany was so amazing to work with. She really knew what she wanted and has amazing personal style. I’ve long dreamed of working on a project with this particular design direction, and my wish came true.
Do visit her website! It also has in integrated blog full of wedding inspiration, so if you love weddings, you will want to bookmark it.
