Zee got in touch with me last month to ask for a redesign of her WordPress blog, A Nugget of Joy, a parenting blog here in Singapore. She wanted a design that was inviting, whimsical, and dreamy. Just look at the mood board that I created out of her Pinterest pins. Isn’t it adorable? I love the colours she chose!
We decided on a whimsical watercolour illustration that had buntings and balloons, as these were images that she felt drawn to. I used all these elements into a single unified design for her logo — instead of having various images scattered all over the header — using the font she liked (Cantoni Pro, like my own logo), and the colours in her mood board.
Her blog theme is mobile responsive, uses html5 markup, and is actually a customized version of my own Sophie theme. She has a homepage slider at the top of her blog feed, custom social media buttons, and custom read more buttons. In the course of our discussions, Zee kept saying that she wanted a look that was clean and uncluttered, with thin borders around each post and widget. Do check it out! I really love how it all came together, and so did Zee. She was such a joy to work with, and the whole process didn’t take any time at all.
Thanks Pat! You’ve been an absolute joy to work with as well. I really like how the design turned out!
