Happy Monday lovelies! I’m so excited to feature this dream project that I recently worked on. Everything about it is LOVE! I’m a wedding junkie, having worked in the wedding industry before we moved to Singapore. (I still browse wedding blogs for pleasure!) So when a top wedding coordinator from California approached me to redesign their brand identity and website, I was over the moon! Marshecka Rodgers is such a lovely lady and has the most refined taste. It was such a pleasure working with her.
We started with the color inspiration, which was the most enjoyable part. This color inspiration board was collated from her pins.
Isn’t it gorgeous?! I really loved the combination of peach, gold, and black. I think the black gives it a very sophisticated look and prevents it from being too sweet.
We worked on her logo first, and I showed her two options (in black and white so we could focus on the design before any color biases kick in). Marschecka wanted a very classic, fancy, high-end, feminine look, that featured her company monogram. Right up my alley, in other words!
She chose the one on the left, with the highly stylized W, and I proceeded to add the colors, which she approved right away. Here is the final brand board that I pulled together, which includes all the design elements.
And then, we finally designed her website, and I’m absolutely happy with how it turned out! It’s easy to get carried away when you’re going for a luxe and fancy look, but I kept the look clean by using a lot of white space and making sure all the elements were just the right amount of fancy, nothing too flashy or overwhelming. Like all my website projects, it’s built on the Genesis Framework, is mobile responsive, has an integrated blog, and easy to navigate.
Wow what a great project Patricia! I love that gold edging on the business cards 🙂
Wow you did an amazing job on this project! I love your work! Thanks for sharing the process with us!
I’m head over heels in love with my website and brand identity! You nailed it Pat! Thank you so much!!!!
I’ve always been a fan of your work. I’m not getting married soon but I’d want my invitations to be inspired by your design aesthetics. 😀
What a nice thing to say, Kristel!
