Featured Project: Cote 10 Digital

July 31, 2018 by Patricia

I’m so excited to share this logo and web design project! This is totally different from any of my other projects lately. Cote 10 Digital is a boutique digital marketing agency that provides  strategic conversion-focused solutions for creative entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, lifestyle brands, and small businesses. They naturally wanted a creative, modern, urban vibe for the brand and website.

MOODBOARD

Concrete textures, edgy fonts, copper, and velvet blue – those are the main elements in the moodboard, and set the tone for the overall design of the logo and website.

I’m mildly obsessed with the slanted O. I think it could stand on its own, even without the script font added.

BRAND GUIDE

This is a really modern and stylish brand identity, combining a sophisticated serif typeface with a handwritten script. Copper and navy blue really work well together to give a modern, urban vibe. (And I have to say – it looks great against a concrete background.)

WEBSITE DESIGN

This was a lot of fun to design! The client had very specific ideas about how the website should look and feel – organized chaos were the keywords! Thankfully, they had a subscription to Haute Stock, so we were able to use fabulous stock photos that fit really well with the brand. Naturally, we still wanted the website to be easy to navigate and look very professional.

The homepage and service pages are super stylish and I couldn’t be happier about the final outcome! I used marble textures, on-brand imagery and typefaces to create a cohesive, professional look.

HOME PAGE:

The aim was to make it informative, interactive, and polished.

SERVICES PAGE: This was the most fun to design. I am normally not a fan of anything that’s not symmetrical and organized, (it disturbs my OC sensibilities) but I was happy to experiment for the client.

As with all my projects, it is of course, mobile responsive, and build on the Genesis Framework. Do check out the site.

Positioning is a decision.
You don’t wait to be selected by whoever inquires. You choose.
Choose who you want to work with, what you want to be known for, and how you want your business to be perceived.
That’s positioning.

The custom monogram forms the letters H and A, but if you look at it long enough, you'll notice the curves of the letter A forms a letter L - which stands for Lisa, the founder's name.

The Ashcombe Hall has the gravity of a country house library, the kind of face you'd expect stamped in gold on a leather spine. Vintage Serenade moves looser, more lyrical, closer to something a calligrapher would have signed.
Design has swung this way before. When the Industrial Revolution made everything fast and identical, William Morris and the Arts and Crafts movement answered with ornament, with craft, with the visible mark of the maker. The clean grid had its long turn at the wheel. This particular kind of type, textured, hand-cut, carrying a sense of history in the strokes, is having its own.
