This was a fun design project! I’m so excited to share this because we used floral watercolors, one of my absolute favorite things in the world! The Dairing Bride Academy is a brainchild of Adair Curie, one of the top wedding planners in Florida. It is a heartfelt, immersive wedding planning workshop that aims to enlighten and empower brides as they plan their dream weddings. It took us almost 3 months to finish her rebranding, but it was worth it!
We started with her logo, which is actually a re-design (I also did the first one a couple of years ago). She initially wanted to get inspiration from the original logo but with a few design changes, (including a new name of her workshop), but then in the end she decided to stick to the original name but with a total revamp of the design, getting rid of the stiff formality of the old one.
THE COLOR PALETTE
This time around, she wanted a more colorful, fresh look, which you can see from her color palette. The navy blue and gold from her original logo are still there, but we’ve added coral, butter yellow, mint, and seafoam.
THE LOGO DESIGN
After she approved the moodboard, I presented her with a few options for her new logo. We did several logo versions that referenced the original logo design, but she changed her mind mid-way in a burst of inspiration. Do you know that she actually dreamt about the concept? The final logo is totally different, with watercolor florals and a fancy gold frame. The only reference to the original logo is the lettering on the name.
Here is her brand board.
WEBSITE DESIGN
After we finalized the new logo, we continued the same fun, colorful theme to her website design, with a collage-type homepage layout.
The homepage is fun and welcoming, with a good mix of photos, patterns, and text. Adair is a creative entrepreneur who knows what she wants and what looks good. It was really great working with someone who has an amazing sense of style. The rest of the inner pages are also styled to match, and we used the flowers from her logo as dividers.
A lot of websites with collage-style landing pages are not mobile responsive, which is a shame, because it’s totally possible! I created several widget areas that are easy to change and update. There is also room for an image slider at the top right.
Dairingbrides.com is built on the Genesis Framework, like all my other web design projects, and is totally mobile friendly. Do check it out!
