I just realized I haven’t featured this project yet! π Verde Apothecary is a company Β that will be selling carrier oils, natural butters, essential oils, beeswax, earth clays – natural ingredients mainly used for bath and body products. The client wanted a look that would appeal to both men and women, but with a slightly more feminine look.
Here is the mood board that she sent. See how it crystallizes the design direction in ways that no written description can? This is why I always ask for a mood board, and why it’s an important step when trying to define your brand identity.
Don’t you just love it? I loved the softness of the overall mood, and the almost vintage look of the labels that she included. Here are the versions that we worked on for the logo, before we came up with the final one. Like my other projects, I normally create 2 design concepts and let the client choose which one to work on. Then we’ll do 3 rounds of edits to the chosen design. Β She picked out the second one for its simplicity, but we changed the layout of the text, the fonts, and the icon. Β Ultimately, she decided that she wanted a mortar and pestle icon instead of the leaf.
And here is the brand mood board with the final logo version that the client approved.
