I feel really awful.
This was one of my absolute favorite web design projects this year, and I forgot to blog about it. I blame overwhelm and mommy brain.
Natalie is a luxury wedding photographer in the UK with 6 years of experience in photographing weddings, and over 20 years in the photographic and film industries. Her interest in photography started really early — her dad was a fashion and advertising photographer in Central London. Can you imagine spending your childhood surrounded by glamorous fashion models?
She had her website designed by another developer a few weeks before she approached me. But according to her, she felt that it was never really finished properly, and wasn’t 100% sure about the look — it was too vintage and not classy enough. She had in mind a very luxurious, high-end, feminine and soft look for her site, and trusted me to create it for her. Not too much pressure, right? hahaha! But seriously, she and I clicked right away and I kind of knew exactly what she was going for so I was really happy she approached me.
As usual, we started with the questionnaire and Pinterest board. Oh my goodness, her pins were so gorgeous! I had a hard time picking out images to use on her color inspiration board, but since she specified that she wanted metallic gold to be in it, with shades of grey and soft neutral tones, I just focused on those.
For the site layout, Natalie wanted a mobile-responsive website that was easy to navigate and showcased her landscape images really well. She also wanted an integrated blog with a huge content section so that her photographs will take center stage.
