I cannot believe I haven’t shared about this project yet! It’s absolutely one of my favorites this year. Emily asked me to create a theme for her food blog where she creates weekly meal plans and color coded shopping lists using recipes from around the web. It is focused on using colorful and fresh foods to make delicious and healthy recipes. There are five recipes she features each week and each recipe is inspired by a color of the rainbow. Isn’t it fantastic?
Taking the cue from the name, she wanted it to be colorful (like a rainbow), but nothing overly obvious. Her by-words were “Fresh, Bright, Happy, Simple, Clean.” I created a logo for her that had all the colors she picked out — notice that she chose fresh but muted colors, so that they won’t be too in-your-face. I picked out a clean, simple condensed font for the header title to so that the colors will stand out. The tagline is incorporated into the logo and rendered in a fun handwritten font. She also chose to have icons on her menu bar, and we picked out simple flat icons of fruits and vegetables.
Here is the brand board that I came up with for her site:
And here is how all these elements came together in her site, which is built on the Genesis Framework, of course:

I love it, Pat! Especially the fruit and veggies elements. So fancy! 🙂
