Featured Project: The Wedding Concierge

January 12, 2016 by Patricia 10 Comments

This project definitely deserves a special feature! There is a string of beautiful brands that I worked on last year that have yet to be featured, but I made sure that the re-branding of The Wedding Concierge would be the very first one on the blog for this year.

Ginny Krauss is a dear friend and one of the few special people that I love to collaborate with.  She happens to have impeccable style and a true flair for the romantic – and is also a dream to work with! She and her business partner and bff Ann decided to rebrand their website into an international love and lifestyle blog and asked me to design it for them.

We started with their inspiration board and developed a truly romantic and pretty color palette.  (You should see her Pinterest board, it’s full of swoon-worthy images!)

I worked closely with Ginny to create a logo and complete brand identity design that fully captures the vision and direction that she wanted for her business and blog.  When I gave her options for the logo to choose from, I was secretly hoping she’d pick the floral one, and she did! I designed variations of the logo that can be used for various media.

After finalizing the logo, we worked on the website design.  Ginny wanted a very classic and feminine look that was easy to navigate and highlighted the blog without sacrificing the informational pages of the site. The floral elements are used all over the website, and is found in the scroll to top button, badges, dividers, headers, and highlighted areas.

The overall look is soft, romantic, with lots of white spaces so that it’s not overwhelming.  I just love how everything turned out!

Your brand is your manifesto, your one-word or symbol declaration of who you are and what you stand for. It doesn't have to be true yet, but it's what you want to be, and how you want people to see you. If you're successful, your brand's perception will become its reality.

How do you want your clients to feel when they think of your brand? What perception are you trying to shape? Let me know in the comments!

The color palette has very midcentury modern vibes, and one that I am excited to render in a logo design as it's quite unusual!

You know why? It will never be 100% ready. It will never be 100% perfect. Or bug free. Your website will need tweaking, updating, and a zhuzhing up here and there every now and then (as I do with cushions every time I pass by the couch).

You have more portfolio galleries to share? Post them later. Google will love you for producing fresh content frequently. You want to change your headshots? Go ahead and update them every season if you wish. You can even tweak your copy to make sure it's up to date with your latest offerings. You should be making these updates anyway, even if your website was perfect when you launched it. (but realistically, no website ever is.)

It is unbelievably easy to use the Generative Fill It is unbelievably easy to use the Generative Fill tool on Photoshop 2024! The latest version of the software has a much more powerful version of the AI and is capable of doing so much more than just remove backgrounds from photos.

Here are step by step instructions on how I changed the art inside the frame using this tool. All in a matter of seconds.

And then of course I tried doing it manually and ended up liking the result more. 😂 but that's just me! It really is a very easy tool to use.

Have you tried it? And can you tell which one is not AI generated?
