I can’t believe I haven’t featured this project yet! I love how diverse my clients’ visions are for their brand identities. While most of them prefer delicate colors and minimalist styling, I also get clients who love to play with rich colors and vibrant imagery for their logo and web design.
For VSM Event Creations, an event planning and design company based in Louisiana, the project was a play on their creativity.
The company provides event management services that are fun as well as elegant. VSM aims to organize events for clients that they would gush over, do pirouettes, and then at the end of the day clip these as memories to tuck away with care. Vanessa, who owns VSM Event Creations, was so much fun to work with, and knew her brand’s unique voice and the overall mood she wanted to convey.
Ginny Krauss provided the clarity through her brand coaching sessions, and then together, we worked closely with our lovely client to translate her vision into reality.
Vanessa chose deep jewel tones and richly-detailed images in her Pinterest board. (And absolutely no pinks!) Here is the mood board that I curated from her pins. It’s very different from the colors that I normally work with, but I fell in love with the rich tones.
We settled on doing a play on feathers and confetti as the primary symbols. The resulting collaboration imbued Vanessa’s creative whiz with lots of frolic and spirit.
THE BRAND GUIDE
THE COMPLETE LOGO SET
We thought the logo design really popped against a black background. But Vanessa opted to use a white background, which is also great. It looks cleaner and lighter on the eyes.
THE STATIONERY SUITE
Probably the most lush and heavily-embellished set I’ve ever designed. The whole stationery suite is fun and exciting and vibrant! I loved how the feathers look on the notecard, most especially. Fun! Fun! Fun!
THE WEBSITE
Vanessa is just starting out, and didn’t have a lot of events in her portfolio yet, but we wanted to give her a website that would be colorful and fun, with emphasis on the fun part of course. She wants her clients to have a good time at their events, and so we wanted her website to reflect that. Her design elements are used all throughout her website. I also created a different version of her logo just for the header.
It was fun designing the confetti background! I may have been a bit OC and carefully placed every single one of those dots JUST SO, but I think it turned out nicely, don’t you think?
Do check out her website!
So vibrant and looks like the site is ready to partehhhh!
