To say that this was a dream project is an understatement. I’ve admired Nevica ever since I joined the Savvy Business Owners FB group. She is an amazing business strategist! When she approached me to design her website, I almost did cartwheels (except, you know, I can’t).
She felt that it was time to do a major revamp of her website because it didn’t reflect the level that her business had already reached. She needed a much more polished and premium look that befits the status of her clients.
This was the most complicated website I had ever developed to date.
Each page is highly styled and fully customized, in every way you can think of, while keeping the black and white minimalist aesthetic. (Stunning color palette, and she had coordinating brand images too!) It was so nice to work with someone as professional and knowledgeable as she is; and she knew just what she wanted, down to the littlest detail. (She carefully hand-picked each icon.)
I even learned a lot from working on her site – things I didn’t even know I was capable of doing. I love that my skills were so stretched, I actually developed a new skill set because of this project!
A lot of people switched to Squarespace because they liked the layouts and didn’t know that those were also possible on a WordPress site. Nevica’s website still uses the Genesis Framework, but with the Genesis Dambuster plugin, you can work around the inner margins set by WordPress and make it look like a Squarespace website. Without a ton of shortcodes and bloat.
Each of her pages is like a sales page with several sections. Most of them have a consistent layout with a full screen header image and a title and subtitle on top of it. An arrow near the bottom of the header image links to the sections below. There are tons of custom features and functions, and you just have to browse her site to check them out.
(it shows a masonry grid of excerpts with a read more link that expands to the whole text.)
(A weekly roundtable discussion hosted by Nevica. It’s great, sign up!)
WORK WITH ME PAGE
(This is the sales page, and it leads to 3 other pages)
(With custom widget areas and a sidebar that I love for its simplicity!)
She even has a custom 404 page!
You should totally check out her site to appreciate all the details. This is one project I’m really proud of. It was the most challenging one so far, but totally worth!
