The start of Autumn always reminds me of New England and how unbearably lovely it is during this season. It was such a pleasure to witness the leaves change colour and to hear their crunch underfoot whenever I took walks along empty tree-lined roads. The colorful foliage never failed to stop me in my tracks. I remember the cool crisp air in the mornings when I sipped my coffee by the window of my students’ apartment in campus. Those were really lonely times for me, but I appreciated the award-winning cinematographic background that nature provided for my homesickness. hahahaha!
One of my fondest memories is of going to the Kollas’ Apple Orchard in Connecticut with my uncle and his family, where we picked apples from baskets laid out on a table with no one around, and paid by putting money in a tin that was just there. It was amazing! And so New England! I still find it unbelievable, city girl that I am. I would love to visit New England again, this time with my hubby and kids, and I will surely time it in Autumn.
I’m waxing nostalgic, so I was inspired to create this moodboard. Autumn has its own palette, and it’s glorious! There is no such season here in Singapore, but there’s no reason why we can’t have a few fall touches in our decor, right?
