How to embed a Spotify Podcast Episode on your Blog Post

August 2, 2024 by Patricia

Embedding a Spotify podcast episode is a fantastic way to enrich your posts, increase engagement, and potentially boost your SEO. Whether you’re looking to add expert commentary, share entertaining content, or simply diversify your media, this step-by-step guide will walk you through the process of seamlessly integrating Spotify podcasts into your WordPress blog.

Whether you’re sharing an episode where you were featured, or writing about your own podcast episodes, embedding the actual episodes so your readers can listen in directly from your post is always a good idea.

Here’s how to embed the Spotify podcast player on your post:

  1. Head over to Spotify (on your browser) and copy the share url of the specific episode you want to share. How do you do this? Click on the 3 dots, select Share, then COPY EPISODE LINK

2. On another tab, go to the post editing window (assuming you’ve already started writing your blog post and just need to embed the Spotify player). Click on the + sign that adds a block.

3. The block options open up on the left side, scroll down to embeds, and find Spotify. Click on it to add the block.

4. Click the “Enter URL to embed here…” field. And paste the url you copied from Spotify.

5. Click embed.

6. You should see the episode player on your post. Hit publish when you’re done.

See how it looks on this post: (oh, and yes, I was featured on the Marketing for Designers Podcast last March!)

By successfully embedding a Spotify podcast episode into your WordPress blog, you’ve unlocked a new dimension of engaging content. Not only does this enhance the overall user experience, but it also provides opportunities to reach a wider audience and boost your blog’s SEO. Remember to experiment with different podcast topics and placements to find what resonates best with your readers.

Positioning is a decision.
You don’t wait to be selected by whoever inquires. You choose.
Choose who you want to work with, what you want to be known for, and how you want your business to be perceived.
That’s positioning.

The Ashcombe Hall has the gravity of a country house library, the kind of face you'd expect stamped in gold on a leather spine. Vintage Serenade moves looser, more lyrical, closer to something a calligrapher would have signed.
Design has swung this way before.
