If you follow me on Instagram (if not, you should!), you will know that I have been obsessed with my iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. It’s an absolute game changer! It took me a year of hemming and hawing before I finally went ahead and bought one of those babies for myself, and I have never been happier! I love not having to waste so much paper when I do concept sketches for clients, and it has made my work so much easier! (Ok, so I also use it for fun, but mostly for work.)
It is so amazingly easy to do lettering and modern calligraphy using the ProCreate app. It takes a bit of practice, but once you get the hang of it, it’s really the most useful tool ever. I purchased some brushes from here. And also downloaded this fabulous set. The rest was all practice, and finding my style. I’m still exploring and learning, but I love the results so far:
Your work is lovely!
I’m older and a longtime calligrapher, but I’m totally old school! While I love paper, I’d love to start using my iPad for my creations! I’m completely tech ignorant!
So-my question…Once you’ve created something wonderful, where do you go to print that creation on different mediums at different sizes? How do you know that what you’ve created can translate to a large print of your work?
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Hi Holly!
I usually export from my iPad to my computer, and then vectorize the art work (on Illustrator) so that it can be printed into any size.
