Leslie Marie Events

PROJECT: FULL BRANDING SUITE + PROFESSIONAL WEB DESIGN

Leslie Marie Events is an events management and design company based in Los Angeles, and expanding to Phoenix, Arizona. Leslie, the owner and lead planner, wanted a brand identity and coordinating website design that was creative, elegant, and stylish, with a timeless glamorous aesthetic.

MOODBOARD

Very glam, stylish moodboard with black, gray, and rose gold for the palette.

LOGO DESIGN

Leslie’s one request was a custom monogram that would be used throughout the different logo variations. I designed this elaborate L with swirls and swashes, and rendered it in a metallic rose gold gradient. Paired with a stylish serif and a very minimalist sans-serif, the overall look is classic, elegant, and creative.

STATIONERY SUITE

WEBSITE DESIGN

The whole creative, elegant, stylish vibe was carried over to the website design. They had gorgeous styled images, so it was easy to make it all look consistent.

The homepage opens to a video of one of their super stylish weddings, overlaid with the submark on top. Call to action buttons have the same gradient as the logo.

Inner pages have a slightly different look, with the inline logo centered on the header and the menubar fixed at the very top. Do check out the website! It’s built on the Genesis Framework, and uses Beaver Builder for flexible page layouts.

The custom monogram forms the letters H and A, but if you look at it long enough, you'll notice the curves of the letter A forms a letter L - which stands for Lisa, the founder's name.
We wanted the brand to look and feel premium but welcoming, as befits her years of experience and level of expertise.

The Ashcombe Hall has the gravity of a country house library, the kind of face you'd expect stamped in gold on a leather spine. Vintage Serenade moves looser, more lyrical, closer to something a calligrapher would have signed.
Design has swung this way before. When the Industrial Revolution made everything fast and identical, William Morris and the Arts and Crafts movement answered with ornament, with craft, with the visible mark of the maker. The clean grid had its long turn at the wheel. This particular kind of type, textured, hand-cut, carrying a sense of history in the strokes, is having its own.
The antiques returning to people's living rooms and this type returning to branding are doing the same work. Both are reminding us a skilled hand was involved.
