Mondays and I have a complicated relationship. On the one hand, I’m feeling excited over what the week ahead might bring, and on the other hand, I’m feeling anxious over what the week ahead might bring. haha! Yes, I know what you’re thinking. And I agree with you.
To maintain my sanity (or what’s left of it), I’ve made it a non-negotiable rule to never work on weekends. It’s great, and it works like a charm. My kids and our home get my undivided attention, and my computer gets to take a break from me. But then that also means that there are dozens of emails that don’t get answered over a span of 2 days. Hello, Monday morning email madness! I try to go through my inbox like a beaver on steroids attacks a pile of logs. More often than not, those emails also determine my action items for the day, so I also have my trusty notebook on hand to jot down the agenda as I answer one email after another. And then it’s on to the “real” work, which is designing and coding.
How about you? How do you deal with Manic Mondays?
Today is particularly trying. My Epson ME340, a combination scanner/printer/copier, died on me. Yes, it has left this realm of existence and has hopefully moved on to a better place. Except that the place is not here in my office doing what it’s supposed to do. It just refused to turn on. Just when I had so many illustrations to scan and pages to print. Oh well. Maybe now I can finally get one that works better. Any suggestions?
