There seems to be an ongoing race among all the social media networks on who can roll out a better page layout. Facebook pages just recently changed its look, and I’m loving the cleaner layout! A few weeks ago, it was Twitter that did a major revamp – it introduced a HUGE header banner. The official Twitter help center says the recommended size is 1500×500. And I tried that – but noticed that some parts of the image were getting cut off, depending on the size of your screen resolution.
So, I did some research and tweaks of my own, and finally got my own banner looking great on my Twitter page.
I made a free psd template for you to download, in case you want to create your own fantastic twitter banner.
You may download it from here. It comes with a layered psd file that you can customize directly in Photoshop, and a png one in case you prefer to use some other software.
Just a few points to remember:
- Save your file as png, not jpeg, for best results.
- Place your most important information on the white area of the psd template.
- When you upload your new banner, you will be able to position and resize it to your liking.
- Sign up for my newsletter to receive free updates and leave some love in the comments!
Thank you much for the .psd! Very useful!
