This fabulous photograph by Polly Alexandre left me in awe. Isn’t it stunning? I want to dive into the picture and grab those peonies and that beautiful Louis XVI chair! Peonies are my ultimate favourite flowers — they’re so gorgeous and luxurious! I love painting them too. The way those petals curl is a work of art by themselves. I’ve tried to capture them on canvass several times. I was drawn to this picture not just for the peonies, or the chair, but most of all, for the way the colors just work together. See how they compliment each other so subtly? The teal tones are so soft that they recede into the background and let the pink take center stage. I think I’m going to try to paint this soon, in watercolors. =)
Polly Alexandre is a client of my friend Martine’s, and she invited her contacts to “like” Polly’s page on Facebook. I did a happy dance when I realized what a wonderful photographer she is. I really love her style! You may check out her previous works here. I asked her permission to feature her photograph on my blog and she very nicely agreed. =)
