INDUSTRY: Wedding Floral Design

"We started working with Fancy Girl Design Studio in 2021, when we realized we needed to upgrade our branding. We chose Fancy Girl Design Studio because Pat immediately understood our big ideas and vision - and was actually excited about making it happen! Her bubbly, positive personality made working together so fun and easy. It was also immediately clear that Pat understands luxury marketing and branding, as well as the wedding industry, and has a vast amount of experience with both. As a wedding floral designer in a big city, our appearance online is a matter of (business) life or death - so it was crucial to work with a designer who understands luxury branding. Pat is THE person for that, and she blew me away with her work." - Carolyn Kulb, Bloom Poet

MOODBOARD & COLOUR PALETTE

Bloom Poet Moodboard Final

The rebranding for Bloom Poet included a radical makeover - including a change of business name. They were formerly known as Folk Art Flowers, which was really cute, but didn't capture the kind of work they wanted to be known for, or the clients they wanted to work with.

Carolyn is an extremely talented and creative floral designer who considers floral design as an art form. She needed a new name that matched that.

"Pat had so many incredible ideas, and was always patient, communicative, and helpful throughout the process. One of Pat's brilliant ideas was to consider a full name change and new brand for the business. That whole process was intimidating to me, but deep down, I knew it was the right call - sometimes you really need that expert perspective! And it was absolutely critical to the successful relaunch of our brand. Another of her wonderful ideas was to incorporate Japanese ink brush strokes into our designs, since we are very inspired by art in our work. I don't have to tell you how incredible that turned out - you can go on our website and see for yourself. I am OBSESSED with how beautiful everything looks now. "

I painted a set of acrylic brush strokes to be used as part of her brand identity. We used these in her stationery, custom patterns as well as her website. Oh, and she got to keep the originals too!

WEBSITE DESIGN

Carolyn's husband is a developer, so I only designed the look of her website and pages; sent them in layered psd files for her husband to code. I made sure everything was clear and easy to implement.

Here's what Carolyn had to say:

"As a wedding florist, I know what it means to go the extra mile to create incredible work for clients. I found a kindred spirit in Pat, who definitely went above and beyond for us, many times over.

I unequivocally, emphatically, whole-heartedly recommend Fancy Girl Design Studio to anyone looking for branding and design help, especially if you want to attract high-end clients!  Our new website, print assets, digital templates, and overall look are absolutely stunning. Everything now is so cohesive, artful, and aligned with our new brand. And the number of compliments I have gotten (along with new inquiries) truly speaks for itself - we relaunched a month ago, and I am still getting emails telling me how much people love the new look and feel of our brand!"

"After working with Fancy Girl Design Studio, I feel completely at ease and confident with where my business is headed. That would not have happened with just any designer - Pat is truly gifted at what she does. This process has been totally transformational, from top to bottom, and made me really love my business again. Our new brand has helped us communicate our value to couples, attract the right people, book more gorgeous weddings, and even book our biggest wedding to date! NONE of this would have happened without Pat and Fancy Girl Design Studio! I can't express how grateful I am to have stumbled upon such a wonderful collaboration.

The results speak for themselves - more clients, better clients, and more ease in my business. Do yourself a big favor and hire Fancy Girl Design Studio - you will be very happy you did!"

The Ashcombe Hall has the gravity of a country house library, the kind of face you'd expect stamped in gold on a leather spine. Vintage Serenade moves looser, more lyrical, closer to something a calligrapher would have signed.
Design has swung this way before. When the Industrial Revolution made everything fast and identical, William Morris and the Arts and Crafts movement answered with ornament, with craft, with the visible mark of the maker. The clean grid had its long turn at the wheel. This particular kind of type, textured, hand-cut, carrying a sense of history in the strokes, is having its own.
The antiques returning to people's living rooms and this type returning to branding are doing the same work. Both are reminding us a skilled hand was involved.
