PROJECT: E-COMMERCE WEBSITE DESIGN FOR MATTHEW STUDIOS NY
THE BRAND: Founded in 2008 by Katherine Wildt, Matthew Studios provides bespoke and unique lighting, hardware and tables to the interior design trade. Over ten years, the brand has grown world-wide, and works with a roster of world-renowned designers, celebrities, and inspiring homeowners. Their products have been featured in Vogue, Elle Décor, Harper’s Bazaar, the Financial Times among many others.
THE CHALLENGE: Their old website was out of date, not mobile responsive, with very small images, and needed a major overhaul. They needed a site that would act as a catalog, and allowed site visitors to filter products by category, material, color, size, etc. Instead of a buy now button, each product had to have a link to a pdf file with more information about the products.
MOODBOARD AND COLOR PALETTE

The palette is composed of cool neutrals – derived from their own imagery and existing logo. The dark brown is used for the typography, and the other supporting colors for backgrounds.
SOLUTION: A modern, sleek, mobile-responsive, fully functional and easy to use website with the following features: a filterable catalog, product information sheets + inquire now buttons, larger images & stylish layout, a portfolio with categories, captions on each gallery image (for photographer & interior designer credits), interactive map for store locations, extra product search on a side widget, and lots of other features.
Built on WordPress (their old site was html) and using the Genesis Framework for extra punch, their new website is definitely a huge improvement from the old one! Most importantly, it’s now a worthy showcase of their amazing products.
