SINGAPORE TRADING POST
PROJECT TYPE:
- Shopify Theme Customisation
- Product Shoot Art Direction
INDUSTRY: Home Furnishing & Decor
Singapore Trading Post offers uniquely curated and exclusively designed furniture and decor that pay homage to a bygone style. Their mission is to offer a stylish and high quality alternative to the mall culture of Singapore (and the sameness in all the furniture and decor available in the mall shops). Their old website did not do their pieces justice, nor did it evoke any nostalgic feelings that would lead people to understand their mission.

We started with a styled photoshoot to showcase how stunning their furniture and accessories would look when used in someone's home. I directed and styled it, making sure to highlight their best-selling pieces, creating lush, tropical arrangements that would look perfect in any Singapore home.
To get the look right, I researched British Colonial Style and suggested additional props and plants to make every setting seem realistic. Silke of Zebra Jojo Photography tirelessly worked with me to achieve the nostalgic style that the owner wanted. For more details on the shoot, please read the blog post here.
WEB DESIGN

A warmer colour palette, stunning photographs, better typography, a much improved layout, and all of the ease of use from Shopify makes it a much more effective AND stylish website. We included suggestions for themes and occasions to make it easier for people to plan what to buy. Lots of call to action buttons point the way so they don't get lost. It's easy to navigate, so much so that even their store staff use the website to show customers other options for products.
