PROJECT TYPE: BASIC LOGO DESIGN + E-COMMERCE WEB DESIGN
Upper Bay Frame & Gallery is an established custom framing shop in Texas that is known for high quality service and craftsmanship, as well as unique products (they also have a carefully curated gift shop). The owner, Patricia Donham knows her market really well, and wants to keep her brand casual & friendly while looking professional and upscale.
There were elements in their old logo that she wanted to keep – the egret, a very popular bird in their area, and the sun. We agreed that readability is very important, particularly since the logo will be printed on her actual store sign.

WEBSITE DESIGN
Their old website needed a major makeover, so we worked on getting brand imagery that would give their website an artistic, modern vibe, while staying consistent with the color palette. I thought that close ups of frames would look great as background images, since 90% of their business comes from custom framing (and the textures look so good!).
We used parallax images for interest, and lots of white space, paired with clean typography. Larger font sizes make it easier for a more mature target audience to read. We prioritized user experience as much as aesthetics: the website needed to be easy to use and navigate while looking as beautiful as their physical store.

Here’s what Patricia had to say:
“I absolutely LOVE it!! It looks elegant–just what I wanted! I’m so pleased, I love love love the website! It’s absolutely gorgeous! Thanks again for a delightful experience and an elegant website!”
