This was something I’ve always wanted to try. My sweet husband gave me the most beautiful bunch of pink roses a couple of months ago, just because. And I must admit that the first thing I wanted to do was to tear into those petals and try to work them into my sketches. I waited until they were starting to wilt, though, so I could enjoy their blooms for a few days.
(I prefer to get close-up shots of roses. It’s the only way to capture all that gorgeousness.)
As soon as the blooms started to droop, I removed the petals and did this second one:
I love how ephemeral their beauty is.
But even wilted rose petals are still lovely. Sigh.
