Stylish Hand-Lettered Fonts

January 25, 2019 by Patricia 21 Comments

So many new font designers are coming up with the most stylish handlettered fonts! I rounded up my favorites to share with you. These would be perfect for use in brand identities, social media graphics, and ads.

stylish handlettered fonts for branding and social media graphics

Which one is your favorite?

These fonts are great if you’re going for a whole range of moods: stylish & artistic, casual & welcoming, natural & authentic, polished & informal, charming & friendly. They will not work if you want something fancy and formal, of course. (Check out my list of the best calligraphic script fonts )

Pro Tip 1: do not use these in body text where the font sizes have to be small; they will only work for headings, in large sizes, or as highlights.

Pro Tip 2: because these have a more informal look, pair them with a sans-serif font for best results. Like Sweet Sans, Lato, Coco Gothic, or Montserrat.

I’ve listed the sources below, in case you’re interested:

  • Aescudos
  • Attila
  • Blush & Bloom
  • Esther
  • Figueira Script
  • Hello Gabhila
  • Ingenue
  • Just Dreamin
  • La Parisienne
  • Only You
  • Pellony Kind Script
  • Santorini
  • Salome Wide
  • Sienna
  • Sonneta Script
  • Truly Lully
  • Wild Romance
  • Wild Magnolia

Here are some graphics I created using some of the fonts above. Can you guess which one is which?

I’d use an easy to read font if the quote is long. Something like a serif or sans-serif.

    Dear Patricia,

I really like your page and your style and your ideas.
So I’ve a question for you because I’ve been struggeling with this for over a year.
I’m from the Netherlands and I have my own salon in nails, lashes and brows beside my work at the hospitel.

Now I have this hudge problem, I can’t think of a catchy name for my salon.

Maybe you can help me cause you seem like a super creative person.
And do you design logo’s? And what are the cost?

I hope to hear from you 😉

    With love
    Roos

My name means rose btw, it’s not a must to have that in the name though.

Hi Roos! Yes, I do design logos, but for your name, I think you’d best talk to a brand strategist who can help you find your voice. 🙂 Look up ginnykrauss.com or maybe freshpages.co for brand messaging.

Your brand is your manifesto, your one-word or symbol declaration of who you are and what you stand for. It doesn't have to be true yet, but it's what you want to be, and how you want people to see you. If you're successful, your brand's perception will become its reality.

How do you want your clients to feel when they think of your brand? What perception are you trying to shape? Let me know in the comments!

The color palette has very midcentury modern vibes, and one that I am excited to render in a logo design as it's quite unusual!

You know why? It will never be 100% ready. It will never be 100% perfect. Or bug free. Your website will need tweaking, updating, and a zhuzhing up here and there every now and then (as I do with cushions every time I pass by the couch).

You have more portfolio galleries to share? Post them later. Google will love you for producing fresh content frequently. You want to change your headshots? Go ahead and update them every season if you wish. You can even tweak your copy to make sure it's up to date with your latest offerings. It is unbelievably easy to use the Generative Fill It is unbelievably easy to use the Generative Fill tool on Photoshop 2024! The latest version of the software has a much more powerful version of the AI and is capable of doing so much more than just remove backgrounds from photos.

Here are step by step instructions on how I changed the art inside the frame using this tool. All in a matter of seconds.

And then of course I tried doing it manually and ended up liking the result more. 😂 but that's just me! It really is a very easy tool to use.

Have you tried it? And can you tell which one is not AI generated?
