Like most parents of 12-year olds here in Singapore, I’ve been quite overwhelmed with the stress of PSLE. I can’t even talk about it without getting palpitations. Suffice it to say that the stress really affected us physically because my son and I were both down with the flu this week. It’s horrible.
Thankfully, I got a dose of much needed sunshine and joy when this bouquet of sunflowers was delivered the other day. Why is yellow such a happy color? It’s the color of sunshine, daffodils, egg yolks, lemons, and emojis! This particular dose of happiness was sponsored by A Better Florist, a flower shop here in Singapore that specializes in same day delivery of the freshest blooms.
I love the modern arrangement, with the burlap wrapping, and striped grosgrain ribbon. This bouquet is called The Ayla. There are so many other options on their website; you can even buy bunches of flowers for you to arrange however you like. (My favorite is The Sylvia – it looks so colorful!)
What I appreciated the most was this bit: they included instructions for caring for the flowers so that they will last longer.
It includes a small packet of “flower food” that you mix with the water. It makes the blooms last longer, and stay fresh for days.
Two days later and the flowers still look as fresh as when they were delivered.
Now if only they had peonies the whole year round, I would be ordering from them every week!
