If you want a simple logo that looks like it’s been written by hand, you can’t go wrong with signature fonts. These belong to the general category of handwritten fonts, but these are more natural & free-flowing, usually with exaggerated strokes and a more uneven baseline — but without the swashes and flourishes of modern calligraphy. These are also different from brush scripts, which have rough outlines and thicker down strokes.
I handpicked the most stylish signature fonts I could find, and tested over 4 dozen of them before I came up with this final list. These convey a really chic, authentic, handwritten look that would be perfect for lifestyle brands, photographers with a natural style, organic products, social media quotes, greeting cards, (and yes) email signatures, among other things.
Here is Smooth Stone used in a sample logo:
I paired it with a semi-bold version of Gotham Pro for the word “photography”. Really LOVE how it looks! It’s simple, stylish, and so on trend. The best thing about it? Smooth Stone is free!
And this one is Silver South:
Possibly my favorite of the batch, Silver South Script is clean and free-flowing. It has discretionary ligatures and swashes, and comes with an Alt version if you want to vary how the letters look. (For a more natural, handwritten effect, particularly if you’re working with longer text, like quotes.)
These fonts will look stunning when paired with a simple sans-serif, or a modern high-contrast serif. Just don’t use them in the body text of your website.
SOURCES: don’t worry, some of them are free
Do you have any favorite signature fonts that aren’t on the list? Do share them in the comments!

Great combination of fonts.. Love the sliver south.
Hello! I’m in love with the sources. But I could not download it! On the site says you need to pay…
Yes, that’s because they’re premium fonts, not free fonts.
Hi !
I love the Southhampton Font… is there a possibility of being able to see our business name written before purchasing?
Yes, if you go to https://crmrkt.com/laqRWW you can try out the font first.
My favorite is what you’re using for the “Pinit” button. I’d be so grateful if you’d tell us what it is.
Thanks for this lovely work!
It’s Poem Script Pro! 🙂
