This was such a fantastic experience! I’ll never do this again! hahahah! Introvert me had the most terrifying yet strangely fun time teaching watercolors to two groups!
Our first ever Flourish and Florals watercolor & calligraphy workshop we conducted last month (with the amazing Dee of Souldeelight Creative Space, who taught modern calligraphy) was our crazy attempt to cram floral watercolor painting and modern calligraphy in a few hours . Dee and I been talking about holding a joint workshop for the longest time, and finally our schedules aligned for 2 Saturdays in September. The first schedule we announced was sold out within a day, so we opened up another schedule, and that was sold out AND overbooked as well. Oh my! I didn’t expect the response to be that overwhelming.
These pictures are from the second event, because we didn’t have a photographer during the first one. (#epicfail) But that’s also good, because the arrangement and the flow was also a lot better during the second event (we live and learn, people). We had such fun, and I hope our participants did too.
The cafe where we held it is small, had lots of natural light, and was really charming. They also served good food! Dee, being the veteran, went first, and she was amazing! Such a dynamo, really! You can tell how she loves teaching her craft.
Here I am explaining my materials and basic setup.
We had the most amazing participants who really put in so much effort, and were really fun to be with as well.
Here I am with Faye, my friend who helped out during the workshop. She’s fantastic!
A big THANK YOU to everyone who joined the workshop and thank you to Dee for partnering with me and teaching me the ropes, to Faye and Michelle for your help, and for Vanessa for taking such awesome pictures!
I’m thinking of offering a more advanced watercolor workshop for those who want to take this up as a serious hobby. I would prefer smaller groups though. Email me for inquiries!
