Years before I became a graphic and web designer, I used to design and print custom wedding invitations. It was very old-school, using engraving and old-fashioned embossing techniques, and I loved it! I had to give up the business when we moved to Singapore, but my love for weddings and invitations never went away, even if I work in a different field now.
The move to digital printing has given an almost infinite set of options for wedding stationery, but the timelessness of refined, romantic design cannot be denied. There is something so magical about the feel of letterpress on textured paper, or of copperplate engraving on heavy card stock.
If you are looking for beautiful calligraphic fonts that look realistic, and work really nicely with a classic, romantic, and elegant theme, I’ve rounded up the best ones here. These will probably work best if they were used only for the bride and groom’s names as they would be hard to read at small sizes. But they are so incredibly beautiful, they are sure to make the wedding stationery look like they’ve been done by a professional calligrapher.

Here’s where to find these fonts:
- Adora Bouton
- Amelia Giovani
- Antonietta
- Boutinela Script
- Dostoevsky
- King Bloser
- La Roche Script
- Le Mans Pen Script
- Modern Symphony Script
- Rare Bird Specimen II
- Rare Bird Specimen VI
- The Wedding Script
