Yes, that’s really her name. And yes, she was mistaken for the Elizabeth Taylor at a Hollywood event once, when she was working for the film industry!
I was so excited to work with Liz on her website design. Liz is a marketing expert who used to offer training services to SMEs and big corporations (like Google, & Apple, you may have heard of them). She realised that her SME clients needed more than just workshops and decided to offer direct, actionable advice and coaching as well.
She had a few preconceived ideas, having DIY’ed her old website, which I promptly told her to throw out the window. Having undergone a major shift in her business strategy and target market, Liz needed a fully custom website to communicate all that effectively. She had her minimalist brand identity sorted out by Pink Pineapple; my task was to design and develop a website that would be consistent with this ethos, effectively communicate all the services and expertise she has to offer, and make it easy for people to use.
The Process
Like all my custom web design projects, it was important to start with strategy and content, before even thinking of the design. Knowing the customer journey and what she wanted people to be able to do on her website helped me plan the wireframe and user experience. Content-wise, I knew she would be in good hands when she said that ZebraJojo Photography was taking her brand photos, and she hired a PR firm to write her copy. There were changes along the way, and we had to adjust the design with the content changes, but Liz was pretty clear in terms of wanting a website that conveyed clarity, confidence, and expertise.

The Design
The website looks fresh but soothing, is easy to navigate and easy to understand. We made sure it was also easy to read, with large contrast between the headlines and the body text. All links are clearly highlighted, and the customer journey very clear right from the homepage. I think it captures her brand perfectly, as well as her own personality, which is very no-nonsense, but also very refined.

Here’s what Liz had to say:
“It was a wonderful opportunity to work with an accomplished web designer and experience the process from start to finish. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Patricia on my website. She understood my brief and the impact I was trying to achieve straight away. Patricia was very patient with my changes to the initial brief as I solidified my brand positioning. She pulled everything together in a beautiful, elegant and user friendly design that showcases my services and my personality. I would highly recommend Patricia for any web design project.”
