I’ve been waiting so long to share this with you! This has to be one of my favourite projects last year. Β Ginny Krauss contacted me last September to design her new website. Β She wanted a beautiful, clean, and easy to navigate website with a romantic wedding-y feel. π I just knew I would love this project the minute I read her design brief and chatted with her over Skype. Β I’ve been longing to design something like this for the longest time, and so working with Ginny was a dream come true.
The logo was initially designed by one of her friends, but I changed the fonts on it to give it a more classic look. Β Typography is really important in designing logos and websites. Β I actually take a lot of time on typography decisions alone, as it can make or break the design. Β Her choice of colour palette couldn’t be more perfect! We used thistle and grey for most of the design elements in the site. Β Touches of blush, bone, and fawn in other elements lighten up the look and make it really romantic.
Β Below is a screenshot of her homepage. Like most of my WordPress projects, I built the site using the Genesis Framework. It has a subtle lace pattern at the top and bottom in bone. The logo sits perfectly at the top left corner. Β There is a welcome blurb on the left side, framed in blush, and a slider on the right of all the wedding professionals that Ginny has helped. Β Three widget areas follow below. Β Titles are all in Pinyon Script, a classic, beautiful script font that works perfectly with the overall look.
The site has a built-in blog. Β I think all business sites should have a blog integrated into it. Β It helps you engage your visitors much better than any static site can ever do, no matter how “interactive” you make it to be. Β Make sure you visit her website! It’s full of fabulous wedding inspiration and tips. π
