Dee is one of the most creative and talented women I know. I follow her on Instagram and swoon over her gorgeous calligraphy and photographs. I was really delighted when she approached me a few months ago to design her site as she finally decided to move from Blogger to WordPress. (Yay, Dee!) From the start, I knew that this was going to be a true collaborative project, and it was amazingly so. It’s really great to work with other creatives who have the same aesthetic as you, and who know exactly what they want and can communicate it clearly.
We started by going through the design questionnaire, and asking her to create a Pinterest board. This is the color inspiration board that I came up with out of her pins. Aren’t these the most gorgeous images ever????

I encouraged Dee to design her own logo, as she is an exceptionally good calligrapher. (She offers workshops!) She designed several of the hand-lettered text used throughout the site. This is what she sent me (I just added the glitter). 
And here is how it all came together on her custom-designed homepage. Dee wanted a fresh, organic feel to her site, and we worked together to make sure that it was also organized and easy to navigate.
She wanted a blog page that was full-width, so nothing will distract from her gorgeous images.

Her site is mobile-responsive, of course, and built on the Genesis Framework, like all my WordPress themes. It features lots of little quirky details, like glitter borders around her buttons, watercolor backgrounds, and lots and lots of blush and sparkle.
Once in a while I get dream projects; projects that I really love to work on, with clients that are fun and easy to work with and who inspire you to step up your game. This was one of them. Thanks Dee!
